Congratulations to Fitz Bye Fellow, Dr Mahbod Ghaffari, who has won a Pilkington Prize for his teaching work. Dr Ghaffari is an Associate Professor in Persian Language, Linguistics and Culture at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. 🗓️ Date: Friday, 8th March 2024 
🕰️ Time: 6 PM 
📍Venue: Fitzwilliam College, Gordon Cameron Lecture Theatre
 
‘Oh, Sister!’ is a documentary about six women facing the challenges of the ongoing Russian invasion, and fighting for peace, justice and freedom in Ukraine. The film was commissioned by the Nobel Women’s Initiative in partnership with the NGO United for Ukraine. The story builds upon the visit of three Nobel Peace Prize laureates to Ukraine and features the stories of six women, including Ukrainian human rights lawyer Oleksandra Matviichuk. 
 
The screening will be followed by the discussion with our special guest Olga Hamama, co-founder of United for Ukraine and co-author of the film. 
 
Join us on 8th March to celebrate the remarkable resilience, strength and courage of women in the face of adversity. The event is open to everyone. #iwd
