Career Network

The Fitzwilliam Career Network is an online network for the exclusive and mutually beneficial use of Members and students of Fitzwilliam College.

Members at any stage in their career volunteer as Career Contacts, offering Fitzwilliam students advice, help, opportunities and the benefit of professional experience. Register or log in here.

What sort of help do Career Contacts offer?

  • Advice on how to apply for a job
  • Interview experience
  • Work experience, internships
  • Help with CV writing
  • Seminar with students in College
  • Advice on required qualifications
  • Pros and cons of a career in...
  • Job opportunities

What areas of expertise are covered?

Over 250 Career Contacts have registered from 30 different fields, including Banking & Investment, Engineering & Construction, Law, Media (Journalism) and the charity sector.

How does it work?

Members and students register through the website and are issued with a password and log in instructions by the administrator. Members create a Career Network Profile using a web form.

Is it secure?

Yes. It is a password-protected system. Email and telephone contact details are not viewable. Once registered, Fitzwilliam students can browse profiles and submit an email, but do not see the Career Contact's email or telephone contact details unless and until the Contact chooses to respond to their request.

Can I change my details?

As a Career Contact you have complete control over your published information. You edit your own Career Network Profile once you have registered and received a password. No details are published on the website before this point.

Small print

Fitzwilliam Development Office administers the database of Career Contacts and monitors messages sent by students to the Career Contacts. To ensure the smooth running of the network, anyone found misusing it will have their registration cancelled. Any attempts to re-register will be denied. You will need to accept the Terms & Conditions when logging in for the first time. Career Contacts volunteer their services and can remove themselves at any time.

The University Career Service is also available to all Cambridge students and alumni.
