Supporting Students
Fitzwilliam College has a long and proud tradition of admitting outstanding students regardless of their financial means.
With this comes a commitment to ensuring that all our students get an equal chance to flourish once they are here in Cambridge, and an equal chance to benefit from the range of opportunities on offer here, both academic and extra-curricular.
Though generosity of benefactors to the Student Opportunities Fund, the College is able to support Fitzwilliam students with immediate financial needs though maintenance bursaries, studentships and hardship grants. It can also help with one-off educational expenses - medical students need stethoscopes (£50), graduate students need grants to attend conferences, classics students need dictionaries (£150), and geography students need to fund field trips.
The College is also able to reward excellence though the awarding of scholarships and prizes, travel grants and special awards. The Development Office is always happy to discuss the different ways in which donors can personalise their gift to this and future generations of Fitzwilliam students.
