Refurbished room

Fitzwilliam College has a range of accommodation both on the main site and in College houses.  Altogether there are 408 rooms on the main College site and 167 in College house. Single-room accommodation is guaranteed to all undergraduate students who want it and to all new graduate students who have met the conditions of their University offer by 15 August.

Undergraduate Accommodation The College's accommodation in 'A' staircase was renovated last year providing first-year students with 20 newly-refurbished semi-ensuite study bedrooms, shared kitchens and brand new social spaces. The rooms in 'B' and 'C' staircases are being refurbished this summer and will be ready for students to move into in October 2016.

In your first year your room will be allocated by the College. For the second and subsequent years, rooms are allocated by a room ballot.

Halifax Road spotlightGraduate Accommodation We guarantee a single room (either on the main College site or in a College house) to all new graduate students who have met the conditions of their University offer by 15 August. For the second and subsequent years of your graduate study, rooms are allocated by ballot. All those who enter the ballot are guaranteed a room.

Fitzwilliam College is part of ANUK (Accreditation Network UK) and the National Code for student accommodation.

New common room
We welcome about 140 new undergraduates and 140 postgraduates every year. Most students' study-bedrooms are grouped around shared cooking and living facilities – and it’s here that the Fitz community thrives.
