I'm from quite a mix of different backgrounds that you perhaps wouldn't associate with Cambridge (BAME, disabled etc.). One thing I am glad about is that although there are various societies for students that do want to meet others with similar experiences, I've never felt like differences in anyone's background has been a barrier to getting to know new people here.
Back when I was applying, I was quite concerned that my personal circumstances would have a negative effect on my application. However, Fitz responded with a really friendly and encouraging reply, the tone of which I feel has carried on throughout my time here, both with students and staff.
