Robert Munro

Robert studied mathematics and mechanical science at Fitz in the 1960s.

Cambridge is always in the back of my mind - I feel so grateful and lucky that I spent three years at Cambridge. I'm conscious of still representing Cambridge to some degree - hence I feel correspondingly responsible for maintaining Cambridge's high standards.

To me, Fitz is Cambridge - a part of me is still in Cambridge. Living in the USA one realises that tradition is important - Cambridge certainly contributes to tradition. I do not have to seek it, it is with me at all times. Other important factors include memories, friends and colleagues, quality of life, achievements, and providing a sound base from which one can build a career and lifestyle.
