Fitzwilliam is a community of around 450 undergraduates, 300 postgraduates, 54 Fellows, 42 Bye-Fellows and 100 staff members.

The Master and the senior academic members of the College, known as Fellows, form the Governing Body of the College, and work together through committees to manage the direction and day-to-day affairs of the College. The Senior Tutor is in overall charge of students’ academic progress. The Bursar is the senior financial officer of the College.

In addition to teaching students, Fellows may also be College Officers and fulfil administrative or pastoral roles in which they are assisted by College staff. Pastoral support and general academic and personal guidance are offered to all students by the College’s dedicated team of Tutors (supported by others including the Chaplain, Nurse, Counsellor, Porters and trained student peer supporters. The Head Porter and his staff also ensure the security of the College and provide a first, friendly point of contact for students and visitors.
