Dr Carly Whyte

Dr Carly Whyte is a postdoctoral research scientist in the Department of Lymphocyte Signalling and Development at the Babraham Institute, Cambridge. She is originally from Australia and completed her PhD in immunology at the University of Adelaide, where she worked on understanding how migration of immune cells into tumours is controlled.

Carly's interests now lie in understanding mechanisms that balance the activation of the immune system with immune tolerance. Carly is currently working to understand how the cytokine IL-2 influences different aspects of the immune response, and how expression of this cytokine can be manipulated in order to improve therapeutic outcomes for patients with immune-mediated diseases.
