Leah Roberts is currently a joint postdoctoral researcher at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) and the Department of Medicine (Addenbrooke's Hospital).
Prior to moving to Cambridge, Leah completed two Bachelors Degrees (Microbiology and Japanese) and a PhD (microbial genomics) at the University of Queensland, Australia.
Leah is currently working with Dr Zamin Iqbal and Dr Estee Torok on rapid characterisation of bacterial infections in clinical settings, using Nanopore sequencing and new analysis techniques developed in Dr Iqbal's group.
She is also working on larger epidemiological studies looking at transmission and prevalence of antimicrobial resistance in hospitals both domestically and abroad. Leah is also interested in teaching and science communication.
