As part of Fitzwilliam College's new series of Fitz Expedition Series events Professor Ulf Büntgen will take us on the footprints of his last expedition in the Chukotka region, in the outer limits of Siberia, in summer 2019.
Together with his friends, Ulf Büntgen (Professor of Environmental Systems Analysis at Cambridge's Department of Geography), conducts fieldwork all over the Northern Hemisphere extra-tropics, researching the causes and consequences of past and ongoing changes in the Earth's climate system across different spatial and temporal scales. Always focussing on the wider aspects of modern tree-ring research, he led several international, and interdisciplinary expeditions to northeast Siberia, the Altai-Sayan mountains, coastal east Greenland, as well as the Carpathian, Pyrenees and Alpine arcs.
