Helena Morrissey honorary doctorate

Fitzwilliam alumna, business leader and gender champion Helena Morrissey (Philosophy 1984) was awarded an honorary doctorate in law by the University today.

Morrissey is CEO of Newton Investment Management and founder and chair of the 30% Club, a cross-business initiative aimed at achieving at least a 30% representation of women on UK corporate boards. She was also instrumental in establishing the Women’s Boat Race on equal terms with the men’s race – on the same day and on the same river.

The Fitzwilliam Chapel Choir sang at the ceremony, conducted by Director of Music, Katharine Parton.
