New Domestic Bursar welcomed to Fitzwilliam College

Former Wolfson College Domestic Bursar Alan Fuller is moving to Fitzwilliam College.

He comes to Fitzwilliam with a wealth of experience in accommodation, hospitality and estates management and served as Domestic Bursar at Wolfson since 2013.

A trained chef, Alan moved into hotel, catering and conference management in 1998, during which time he spent five years at Queens’ and six years at Magdalene Colleges.

He has overseen refurbishments at Wolfson College and chaired committees in addition to managing multiple departments including Catering and Conferences, Domestic Services, Maintenance, Gardens and Porters.

During his tenure at Wolfson he worked extensively with the students, ensuring that student life was at the forefront of all his objectives. He sits on the Cambridge University Bursars’ Committee and the Bursars’ General Purchasing Sub-Committee.

Outside his professional life, Alan is a keen motorcyclist and volunteers as a motorcycle Blood Runner for local hospitals with the Service by Emergency Response Volunteers (SERV).

He said: “Fitz has a well-deserved reputation as a forward-thinking and friendly college and I’m very proud to be taking on this position. Everyone I’ve met have been really welcoming and I’m looking forward to starting my new role at Fitzwilliam this month.”
