Playing Bach at Handel’s House

Fitzwilliam Music Fellow Francis Knights and Dan Tidhar (Wolfson College) performed a programme of Bach and contemporary music for two harpsichords at Handel’s House in London.

On 9 August Fitzwilliam Music Fellow Francis Knights and Dan Tidhar (Wolfson College) performed a programme of Bach and contemporary music for two harpsichords at Handel’s House in Brook Street, London, which was the composer’s home for 36 years and is now a museum.

Francis and Dan, who are the world’s busiest harpsichord duo, performed Bach’s Passacaglia, D major Sinfonia and the canons from the Musical Offering, as well as contemporary works by Stephen Dodgson and Joanna Marsh.

The instruments included an original 1754 Kirckman and a 1998 Ruckers copy by Bruce Kennedy.
