Professor James 'Jim' Aitken

It is with great sadness and profound shock that the College announces the death of our friend and colleague, Professor James ‘Jim’ Aitken (Professor of Hebrew and Early Jewish Studies, Director of Studies in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies and recently Chair of the Faculty of Divinity).

The College’s flag was flown at half-mast on Friday 7th April as a mark of our respect.

We will be guided by Professor Aitken’s family in the coming period but there will be an opportunity to come together as a College community to remember him.
