Thank you

The 2019 Telephone Campaign has come to an end, and we hope it has been a fantastic experience not just for our student callers and the College, but also for all alumni called!

Over £250,000 has been raised for student support, teaching, buildings, widening participation and more, and we could not be more grateful.

The excellent team of 14 callers had a total of 567 full conversations, with over two thirds of alumni spoken to deciding to give, which is amazing.

The majority of gifts (90%) went to the area of greatest need, ensuring that the College can direct them to have maximum impact on the lives of students.

It was a particularly exciting campaign as we set out on March 19 with the intention of reaching lots of young alumni, and alumni who had never been called before or made a gift to the college.

To this end, alumnus Paul Forster (Geography 1983) generously agreed to match all gifts from under 35s and first time donors up to an agreed level.

There has been lots of interest and many alumni have taken the opportunity to double the impact of their support.

Our pledged gifts are still coming in - so we are still counting - and it is not too late to take part!

You can see behind the scenes on the Campaign here, or be part of it and support Fitzwilliam today here.

Development Officer Millie Papworth, who organised the Campaign, said: “A huge thank you to all alumni who took the time to chat to a student, and to show their support for the College.

"It will have an immense impact. I am so proud of the student callers, who have represented Fitzwilliam’s student body so well.”
