English Taster Day

We are currently accepting bookings for our online English Taster Day!

This extremely popular and exciting annual Taster Day will be taking place online for the first time in 2020! The event is designed to provide potential applicants with a flavour of undergraduate study at Cambridge and an opportunity to explore topics beyond what is covered within the school curriculum.

The Taster Day will consist of some pre-recorded taster lectures that will be sent out ahead of the event and two live Q&As on 24 July. One Q&A will be with an Admissions Tutor and the English Director of Studies and the other with a group of current students, giving you the opportunity to ask questions about the lectures as well as find out what it's like to study English at Cambridge.

The event is free of charge and the Q&As will be hosted on Zoom. A link to the webinar will be sent out to attendees before the event.

Time: 2.30-4.00pm

For: Year 12 students attending a state-maintained school

Cost: There is no cost to attend this event

English Taster Day feedback

The 2019 English Taster Day took place on Monday 18 March 2019

The Taster Day consisted of a series of taster sessions given by experts in the field of English, including Hero Chalmers the Director of Studies in English at Fitzwilliam College. There were also talks on applying to Cambridge and tours of the College. Attendees had the opportunity to chat informally with current English students throughout the day.
