Fitzwilliam and St Anne's Women in STEM Programme 2022

Fitzwilliam College is delighted to have launched our new Women in STEM programme in conjunction with St Anne's College, Oxford - a one-stop event for all the physical sciences, and both Oxford and Cambridge!

To book onto these events, find out more below, and please complete our online booking form

Want to find out more about STEM subjects at university? Interested in finding more about Oxford and/or Cambridge? If you identify as female, non-binary, or another marginalised gender, and are in Years 10-12 (England and Wales), S3-S5 (Scotland), Years 11-13 (Northern Ireland) or equivalent overseas, then sign up below!*

This long-term programme will involve:

  • A virtual launch event on Tuesday 3rd of May 5pm-7pm, introducing the broad range of Physical STEM subjects on offer at Oxford and Cambridge, attended by academics and current students from St Anne's and Fitzwilliam Colleges.
  • Regular STEM newsletters throughout the summer, including exclusive access to academic taster lectures, profiles of researchers in STEM, and further reading to explore the subjects in more depth!
  • Webinars in September for each of the individual subjects, delving into the application process in more detail and with Q&A opportunities with current members of staff. These will take place outside of school hours.
  • A follow up in-person visit for students in years 10 and 11 at the time of sign up, with dates TBC.

These events are free of charge and virtual elements will be hosted on zoom. Links will be sent out to attendees before the events. Please note that participants in small-group sessions will be encouraged to turn on video and audio, and will therefore need to provide evidence of parental permission to take part in theses sessions.

In the event of over subscription, places will be allocated according to widening participation criteria. Completing the registration form does not guarantee a place.

To book onto these events, please complete the online booking form. Booking closes at 11:59pm on Wednesday 27th April.

*This event is open to anyone who self-identifies with marginalised genders in STEM. While non-binary and trans-masc students' experiences will differ from our theme of 'Women in STEM', anyone who identifies as such is very welcome to attend if they would feel comfortable in this space and would benefit from the programme.
