Organise a visit

One of the easiest ways to learn more about life at university is to come and visit us, or book a visit from our team to your school. On this page you can learn more about how visits work, how you can tailor one to your specific needs, and how to help pupils make the most of the experience.

Visits to Fitzwilliam

At Fitzwilliam College, we welcome visits from schools across the UK, especially those from our link areas of Cheshire, Cumbria, Fulham, and Hammersmith.

We understand that scheduling a visit can be challenging, which is why we encourage you to arrange any visits through our Schools Liaison Officer at schools.liaison@fitz.cam.ac.uk. We will try our best to accommodate your plans and can offer advice on how to build a day in Cambridge.

During your visit, your school or college can expect a range of activities, including:

  • Tours of the College and the city
  • Talk from an Admissions Tutor or SLO
  • Subject 'taster' sessions
  • Visits to faculty museums
  • Presentations tailored to your group's interests
  • Question and Answer sessions with current students

These activities are designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of life at Fitzwilliam College and the University of Cambridge.

We also understand that some groups may have difficulty visiting Cambridge for a single day. In such cases, we can offer accommodation outside the Undergraduate Residential Period. Please contact our SLO with as much advance notice as possible to arrange this. Alternatively, a visit to your school might be more appropriate in certain situations.

Visits to your school

We understand that visiting Cambridge may not always be possible, and that's why we offer visits to schools and colleges across the UK. Our Schools Liaison Officer can travel to your institution and run workshops, information sessions, and other activities tailored to meet your needs.

Our visits can be as long or short as you want them, and can be for any number of students from Year 7 upwards. We can cover a wide range of topics, including student finance, the Cambridge admissions process, life at Cambridge, raising aspirations, and how to choose a College or subject.

Alternatively, if you already have an event organised, such as a Careers evening, a Higher Education information event, or an Oxbridge conference, we'd be happy to come and take part
