Everyone is a member

Everyone who matriculates at Fitzwilliam is automatically a member of the Fitzwilliam Society.

Before the Development Office was created in the 1990s, the Fitzwilliam Society was the alumni-run way for Fitzwilliam College alumni to keep in touch. Today, as the College has now taken responsibility for the organisation of events and publications, the Society focuses its activities on occasional regional events and supporting current students via an annual grants programme.

The Society operates through a Committee, membership of which is open to all alumni. If you are interested in joining the Committee, please contact the Honorary Secretary via the Development Office.

The AGM of the Fitzwilliam Society - to which all members are invited - will be held on Saturday 28th September 2024, in the Reddaway Room, at 5.30pm. Papers are available to view online here.

President

The current Fitzwilliam Society President is Dr Paul Chirico.

Fitzwilliam Society Student Grants 2023-2024

The Fitzwilliam Society is delighted to announce that a grant fund of £3,000 is available to support projects that enhance the student-experience at the College.

This is the tenth year of the programme that supports student projects that would not otherwise qualify for funding from the usual sources.

We are particularly keen to encourage applications from individuals and informal groups as well as from established societies, clubs or associations.

In 2022/3, the following projects received funding: Board games and Lego for the JCR and library; Improvements to the JCR; Fitz/Queens Basketball team; Black Girls’ Blues; Land Economy Society; Ladies’ Bible Study; Jewish Society; Islamic Society; Microwave/Combi oven for the MCR.
